Product Description
Baker Perkins horizontal and vertical dough mixers were fixtures in large commercial bakeries, cracker plants, and cookie lines from the 1940s through the 1980s. According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, the drive trains allegedly used asbestos-woven belt material rated for high-torque, heat-tolerant service, and the agitator shaft stuffing boxes allegedly sealed with woven asbestos-fabric packing. Bowl-cover and jacket flanges allegedly seated against compressed asbestos sheet gaskets.
Belt replacements, seal repacking, and cover-gasket cutouts during sanitation and mechanical rebuilds allegedly liberated asbestos fibers into the bakery mixing floor.
