Product Description
Fyrepel Industries was a leading manufacturer of aluminized proximity and fire-entry suits for high-radiant-heat emergency response. Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that Fyrepel proximity suits and fire-entry ensembles allegedly incorporated an aluminized asbestos-fabric outer shell and an asbestos-fabric inner thermal liner across the complete garment — coat, pant, hood, boot covers, and gauntlet gloves.
Allegedly, these suits were supplied to oil refinery emergency response teams, chemical plant fire brigades, aircraft-crash rescue crews at civil and military airfields, and steel mill hot-metal spill response crews for approach and short-duration entry into high-radiant-heat and open-flame environments.
Workers Exposed
- Industrial fire brigades — refinery, petrochemical, and chemical plant response teams allegedly wore Fyrepel proximity suits for hot-work standby, flare-stack incidents, and process-fire response
- Aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) crash-rescue crews — allegedly wore aluminized asbestos proximity suits for aircraft-crash entry at civil airports and military airfields
- Air Force base fire department crews — allegedly issued Fyrepel proximity gear for flightline and hangar fire response
- Steel mill emergency crews — allegedly wore Fyrepel gear for hot-metal spill, breakout, and furnace-area emergency response
- Municipal firefighter special-operations units — allegedly issued proximity gear for high-radiant-heat structural and industrial responses
- Fire equipment maintenance personnel — allegedly exposed during proximity-suit inspection, repair, and end-of-life disposal
If You Wore Fyrepel Aluminized Proximity Suits
Firefighter asbestos exposure claims are actively litigated in U.S. courts, and the 20-50 year latency period between exposure and mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer diagnosis is typical of this occupational class. If you or a family member wore Fyrepel Industries aluminized proximity or fire-entry suits during a refinery, chemical plant, ARFF, Air Force base fire department, steel mill, or municipal fire-service career and have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer, or asbestosis, you may have a claim.
