Product Description
Krebs Engineers hydrocyclones classified slurries at copper, iron, taconite, and gold concentrators throughout the second half of the 20th century. According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, the wear-critical apex spigot and vortex finder liners on legacy Krebs cyclones allegedly incorporated asbestos-reinforced refractory or elastomeric compounds designed to resist abrasive taconite and hard-rock slurries. Liner replacement inside cyclone clusters allegedly disturbed fibers as worn parts were cut out and refitted.
Workers Exposed
Taconite mill millwrights on the Mesabi and Marquette Ranges, copper concentrator workers, and mineral processing plant workers who changed apex spigots and vortex finders on Krebs cyclones are reported in publicly filed litigation records to have allegedly encountered asbestos fibers. Mill operators and mineral concentrator operators cleaning up spent liner fragments allegedly experienced similar exposure.
