Montello, Inc. was a U.S. supplier of oil and gas drilling fluid additives and related drilling-industry materials. Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos litigation that Montello supplied asbestos-bearing drilling additives — including chrysotile-asbestos-bearing drilling mud additives used as friction modifiers, lost-circulation materials, and rheology modifiers in oil and gas drilling operations across the U.S. petroleum industry.
Montello Inc. has been named as a corporate defendant in publicly filed asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation, including cases under the case caption “v. Montello, Inc.” in MO state court.
How Workers Were Exposed
Oil field workers, drilling rig workers, mud engineers, drilling fluid technicians, and bystander workers were exposed to Montello asbestos-bearing drilling additives during handling, mixing, and pumping operations.
